Nearly three years ago, I launched the Fitler Focus with a simple vision: Fitler Square deserved real journalism.
Turns out, you agreed. We published nearly 100 articles, grew to over 1,700 subscribers, and focused on stories that took time to get right.
Today, I’m putting it on hiatus. Competing priorities have made it increasingly difficult to sustain the investment this publication requires: the reporting, the source-chasing, the editing, everything it takes to cover stories that matter.
I’d rather pause than put out something that doesn’t meet the standard we’ve set.
So, here’s my ask: does anyone want to pick up the torch?
The Fitler Focus has an audience, a track record, and a real identity. It just needs someone with the journalistic chops and the drive to carry it forward. If that’s you, or if you know someone, reach out at fitlerfocus@substack.com.
Paying subscribers: your subscription is paused. You won’t be charged during the hiatus.
To everyone who read, subscribed, shared, wrote in, and made this feel like something worth doing: thank you. Fitler Square is a better place when its stories are uncovered and shared.
